How It Works
We know that your time is precious, so let us free up some of your time by washing, drying, and folding your laundry for you! After picking up your laundry from your doorstep, we ensure that your laundry is treated with the utmost care throughout the laundering process. Your garments will be laundered separately to YOUR specifications within our smoke-free laundry facilities, never coming in contact with the laundry of others. Before each load, our washers and dryers are sanitized to remove any trace contaminants to ensure that your laundry is treated like you would at home. Following your instructions, our staff washes and dries your laundry before folding it to our precise specifications before it is transported back to your home.
Laundry FAQ's
What detergents are used?
We offer the use of All Free & Clear complimentary with our wash services. However, if you prefer the use of other detergents, you may either provide the detergent or purchase the detergent at the rate provided on our pricing page.
Do you use fabric softener?
We allow our customers to choose no fabric softener, Downy April Fresh dryer sheets, or wool dryer balls complimentary with our wash services. However, if you prefer using another fabric softener, you may either provide the softener or purchase the alternative at the rate on our pricing page.
I don't see the detergent and/or fabric softener I like on your chart. Do you carry it?
As a small business, we cannot stock every option within the laundry services realm. We are open to suggestions and/or purchasing bottles for repeat customers with special needs. If you prefer a specific brand or fragrance that we do not stock, you may opt to pay a stocking fee to have that brand/fragrance added to our line-up. Please discuss this need with the representative that takes your order!
Do you do dry cleaning?
We do NOT handle dry-clean only clothes! Upon receiving your clothing, we will sort your clothes by like colors and to ensure that everything can be machine washed. If we find a dry-clean-only item, we will place it in a small bag and return it to you un-washed.
Do you do large items and bedding?
We can handle large items and bedding! We do not charge the same rate for these items, so please check the chart on our pricing page for details.
Are you able to handle stains?
Yes, but only on a case-by-case basis. We do not pre-treat laundry or search for stains. Karen (Mrs. Salty Goat) has gotten VERY good at removing almost any stain that Adam (THE Salty Goat) can create. However, there is no guarantee that she can lift the stain, as every stain is different, and every fabric reacts differently. If you have a stained item that you want to see if Mrs. SG can clean, let your representative know, and Karen will be in contact.

As a member of the U. S. Navy and a teacher, we understand that time is money. Washing, drying, and folding clothes can take up a large portion of your time each week, and the additional money spent on water, electricity, and supplies add up. At Salty Goat Laundry Service, we want to save you time WHILE saving you money!
How do I schedule a pickup?

How much does a load of laundry typically cost?
On average, the typical load of laundry weighs between 12 and 16 pounds. This would mean that the average load of laundry would cost the minimum charge of $20 with Salty Goat Laundry Service. This includes washing, drying, AND folding the clothes, which typically takes an average of two hours per load. At Salty Goat Laundry Service, we do not charge per load but by pound, unless you utilize our "Stuff the Bag" service!
Is there a contract or monthly/time commitment?
No! You can use our service once a year, once a month, once a week, or once a day. No matter what works for you, we want to provide the "beeh-ter" way to clean laundry and save you time and money in the process. If you find that our services aren't for you, we understand entirely!
How are my clothes weighed?
If you are not using our "Stuff the Bag" service, we place your items in one of our sanitized transportation bags at the point of pickup. While in our bag, we weigh the clothes using a hanging scale. The weight of the bag is deducted, leaving the weight of your laundry.
How will I be billed?
Your total is due at the time of pickup, or an invoice will be sent at the time of processing. Invoice can be paid in cash, via credit card, or via a mobile payment method such as CashApp, Venmo, or PayPal. The amount invoiced will match the amount provided by the representative at pick up unless you are contacted with any issues (i.e.. large items or large amount of dry-clean-only items found) before service has started.
What happens if I receive a lost or damaged item?
We at Salty Goat Laundry Service take great pride in our work. This means that we keep your items separate from others at all times during the laundry process. However, we are still working with machinery, and we are still human. Unfortunately, we know in the process of running a business, mistakes will occasionally be made.
First and foremost, please get in touch with us at (252) 580-0340 or adam@saltygoatlaundry.com within 24 hours of delivery to report any lost or damaged item so we can resolve the issue!
To reduce damage to machinery and garments, please ensure that you have checked the pockets of all garments before placing them in your outgoing laundry. Salty Goat Laundry Service is not responsible for loss or damage to any items that remain in pockets during laundry servicing, including but not limited to watches, lipstick, money, gum, etc. However, in the same understanding, if an item remains in the pockets of your laundry and has damaged your garments (for example, a crayon), we are not responsible for the damage done to your garments due to that item.
